7 DAY TUSCAN BIKING ADVENTURE FAQ

What if my friend or partner does not want to undertake the biking or walking tours?

Perhaps they will enjoy staying with us as a non-participant, or even participating in other activities such as our cooking classes or art program.

Is it possible to have a private tour?

Certainly! Just ask us for a quote, outlining what you would like to do and how many of you there are. We may have certain minimum numbers that we require in order for us to customize a program for you.

What happens if I can't complete the entire biking or walking tour due to injury or tiredness?

We have a driver on-hand to collect you and return you to the accommodation (or to take you ahead to our next activity)

What happens if I injure myself?

All our guides have first aid training and can call for immediate additional assistance if required. We do recommend that you let us know up-front of any existing medical/health issues, and suggest you have your own medical insurance before undertaking the program with us. It is also a good idea to do some training before you come along with us.

If I decide not to attend one of the walking/bike tours, what happens?

We can't refund your money for that day, but we can organise additional/alternative activities for you if you like. Just let us know and we can provide you with a quote.

Is private accommodation available?

If you would prefer not to share an apartment with others, we can make these arrangements. If you are a single traveller, you can opt to pay the Single Room Supplement to guarantee your own room and bathroom, and if you don't want to even share an apartment with others, just let us know and we can try to fit you into single accommodations (additional costs may be applied). We also have nearby B&B accommodation available.

Can children attend?

We love children! If they are younger than 15 years we can arrange activities for them whilst you undertake your bike and walking tours, and babysitting if you want to have some adult-time. We can also arrange a private family program if you prefer to include them in all the activities. For our 'standard' set tours we have set a minimum age of 15 years, though this is up to the parents and they will need to sign waiver stating that they take full responsibility for the child.

What if I have a food allergy?

Just let us know what you are allergic to and we will make alternative arrangements for included meals.

How can I contact you ?

By phone, email, fax – please refer to the 'Contact Us' section of the site

Do I have to be an athlete to join in on the biking tour?

If you like to stay active, enjoy cycling, walking, swimming or going to the gym occasionally then you shouldn’t have any trouble enjoying our biking program. They are designed not to have you compete in the 'Tour di France' but to have you enjoy wonderful Tuscany from the back of the bike. This region has so much to enjoy , the castles, medieval villages, sweeping vineyards, olives groves and much much more....from the back of a bike you have your eyes free to soak it all in. If you feel that it is too much, remember that we always have the support van in the immediate area that can take you for the rest of the trip. You can also take the day off and enjoy the grounds of the estate, come to a cooking class, take a trip to Florence or just simply relax with a glass of wine and a book.

Do I have to carry my own gear on the rides?

You will have a handlebag bar that is perfect for your camera, wallet, sunscreen and anything else that you would need. Any purchase made during the day, like wine, cheese, olive oil or ceramics can all be placed in the van.

What is the weather in Tuscany like?

Summertime in Tuscany is typically hot. Temperatures are generally a bit cooler in early May and October. On most days, you’ll be comfortable biking in a short-sleeved jersey or T-shirt. Early in the day when you start you will probably need to wear a lightweight jacket or vest, and maybe lightweight pants with biking shorts underneath. Rain is always possible so don’t forget to bring waterproof, breathable rain gear.

What will happen if it does rain?

If it is overcast or light drizzle we still go out on the ride. If it is raining heavily you will have the choice to go or not though we will not be responsible for refunding monies paid for this day.
