In this day, your driver will collect you from your accommodation in Florence, before driving you to visit some villages that have existed since medieval times. You will see castles set on the magnificent Tuscan countryside, glimpse the famous red earth of the Sienese Crete and take in magnificent sight of the Val d'Orcia.

Along the way, you will stop to see the ancient Sant Antimo Abbey, before heading to a quaint Tuscan vineyard estate, owned by a renounded noble Tuscany family. Here you will experience their wines, and taste some cheese, salami and extra virgin olive oil.

Lunch will be served in a typical Tuscan trattoria, in Montalcino or in San Quirico D'Orcia.

You will also have time to explore the quaint town of Montalcino. Noted for its production of Brunello wine, Montalcino is located on the edge of the Val d'Orcia, edging the Grosseto region. With origins dating back to Etruscan times, Montalcino offers views over Tuscan valleys of Asso, Ombrone and the Arbia. The vineyards and olive orchards stand much as they have throughout the centuries. Famous brunello wines are produced here, many DOC wines and a few DOCG, as well as some Super Tuscans. Stand along the medieval walls, built in the 13th century, notice the pentagonal plan of the Fortress built in 1361. Visit the Duomo (cathedral) with origins dating back to the 14th century. Wander through the Piazza del Popolo, the town's main piazza, and note the medieval buildings in the historical city centre.

Next is a visit to Bagno Vignoni, where you can see the famous natural hot springs. You will also pass some leisurly time in the village of Pienza, known for its pecorino cheese which is produced here, using various methods passed on through the generations. The stores here sell hand-crafted wares and delicious foodstuffs, whilst the views over the Val d'Orcia are breathtaking. ‘The English Patient' and 'Gladiator' were actually filmed just here. Don't forget to take your own picture of the most photographed row of cypress trees in the world before you commence your relaxing drive through the undulating hills back to your accommodation.
