Half-day Tour
The driver will collect you from your accommodation and you will then head off in the direction of San Miniato, the home of the valuable white truffle. The truffle hunt is organised in the truffle reserve and is led by the 'tartufaio' and his loyal furry four legged friend. The truffle dogs are the breed 'Lagotta Romagnolo' and are incredibly valuable in Italy, so much so that the owners normally keep them in the house with them at all times to prevent them from being stolen. After an introduction and explanation about truffles, you will embark upon your walk through the woods for around 2 hours ( normally from 10am-12noon), accompanied by the truffle hunter & his dog/dogs and also an english speaker to explain what is happening along the way.
When you return to the farmhouse you will enjoy some red wine, cheeses & salami. You will speak about what you have found, truffles in general and there will be the opportunity to ask questions to the 'tartufaio' ( truffle hunter) . Lunch is not included in this price though they can book a local trattoria where they specialize in white truffles.
It is important that comfortable shoes and appropriate attire is worn. If the weather is not good we will do our best to change the date and if that isn't possible then you will be refunded or transferred to another excursion of your choice. Please note that for groups over 8 people, the 'hunt' will need to be divided and will be at the discretion of the management as to whether the two groups will go at the same time, different times or on different days. Please let us know when enquiring as to how many people in the group.

Please note that the rate mentioned here includes a pick-up and drop-off in Florence. Driver can be arranged to pick you from the place you stay in any region within Tuscany and the respective rates will be quoted separately.
