Vernaccia di San Gimignano Tour

San Gimignano is a medieval town famous for its majestic towers which dot the skyline making some people refer to it as the "Ancient Manhattan".

We will begin with a pick up from your Florence hotel or accommoation at 9am before heading south and making a quick stop in the tiny village of Monteriggioni. It is a beautifully preserved fortified medieval village. The walls stretch for a distance beyond five hundred metres, are over twenty metres high and have fourteen towers.

We will continue traveling until we reach the unforgettable medieval town of San Gimignano. It is called the town of beautiful towers. It was an important stopping point for pilgrims traveling to or from Rome on the Via Francigena (French Pilgrim Road). You will have time before lunch to stroll through the town’s medieval streets. There will be ample time to stop and shop at the shops selling arts and crafts including typical Tuscan handicrafts like pottery and alabaster items.  Lunch will be at a typical trattoria or at one of the nearby wineries, depending on availability and as to whether you prefer the wine tasting in the morning or afternoon.

If you wish to visit two cellars today we can also arrange for a wine tasting and cellar tour in  the morning and then the afternoon in San Gimignano with another wine tasting there in the local area.

After a fantastic day we will return to your hotel or villa around 5.30 pm.

If you wish we can customize the tour for you. We can also arrange other tours in and around Tuscany. We would love to hear your feedback as we are just an email away from you.
